Award-winning author, speaker, and adventurer, Larry Jacobson today released a new children’s book, based on his six-time award-winning memoir, The Boy Behind the Gate, that recorded his six-year voyage of sailing around the world in his yacht, Julia.
Let’s Go! is the children’s version of Jacobson’s adventure and is peppered with light fantasy and fiction. The story is filled with subtle lessons about anti-bullying, trust, friendship, giving, facing fears, and achieving one’s dream in spite of obstacles.
Parents, teachers, and librarians will appreciate the accurate geography as well as the auto-click Nautical Glossary in the Kindle Version. The story teaches good moral values, inspires confidence, and is fun and exciting for parents as well as children. The Kindle version, released at just $2.99 in the Amazon Kindle Store has 24 full color illustrations to supplement the imagination.
Jacobson said, “Mixing fiction with stories and memories from my adventure of sailing around the world was challenging at times, yet it was liberating to let my imagination go.” At one point while struggling with a particular chapter, Jacobson's editor told him to ‘Think like a 10-year old, that shouldn’t be hard for you Larry!” And so the book was born.
