Bindaas BITSians Enthral BITS Pilani Alumni Association BITSAA Ahmedabad Chapter
It has always been said that music which is indeed the food of soul is also the language of feeling and of passion, as words are the language of reason. Music has a profound impact on our mind and bodies as it is fun, relaxing, motivating and energizing
The aim of the BITSAA Ahmedabad Chapter is to stay connected with all the BITSian Alumni from Ahmedabad & nearby cities (Baroda, Surat and other parts of Gujarat). This group is for all the alumni, faculty and students from BITS Pilani (Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad and Dubai campuses) who are staying in or have a connection with Ahmedabad Region. BITSAA Ahmedabad Chapter for the past seven years also has a reputation for organizing a Chai – Samosa Lacha Sunday every month which is held on second Sunday of every month from 8 am till about 11am at Shambu's Coffee Parlour.
Evening of 14th July, 2018 will go down as a milestone in the history of BITS Pilani Alumni Association, Ahmedabad chapter. About 120 persons – alumni and spouses – got together for music, networking and dinner. Such a large gathering of alumni at Ahmedabad took place after several years, and in words of some alumni, “this is the best ever alumni meet organized at Ahmedabad”.
Bindaas BITSians, a group created post BITSAA global Meet BGM at Dubai in January 2017, is dedicated to bring together BITSians through the medium of music, predominantly Hindi film music. After roaring success of their earlier events at Lonavala (June 2017), Delhi (Feb 2018) and Pune (June 2018), a few singers of the group happily confirmed to visit Ahmedabad to perform for BITSAA. Ahmedabad. Azhar Kazmi (1970-75), Biren Shah (’76-81), Preeti Sinha (spouse of Anurag Sinha – ’78-83) Lata and Atul Mishra (’79-84) along with a few members of BITSAA, Ahmedabad performed at a packed venue, non-stop for 2.5 hours pre-dinner, and again for another hour post-dinner.
The high quality music left the audience asking for more. The key objective of the event was to bring BITSians at Ahmedabad together, and help make this a vibrant chapter for the larger task of Alma mater brand building. A few alumni travelled from Vadodara and Jaipur. The meet also helped get a few BITS graduates of recent years connect with other alumni at Ahmedabad. The program was webcast live and the entire show is available on (use headphones for true listening pleasure): https://www.mehfilmastee.com/public/sharemedia/1735
