CADFEM Medical successfully closes financing round with an investment of more than 4 million euros

CADFEM Medical successfully starts out of a financing round with the goal of becoming the leading technology partner for in silico medicine. With strong partners, the pioneer of the discipline is focused on its vision.

In silico describes the change in medicine and is seen as the next stage of evolution: from in vivo, experiments in the human body, to in vitro, in the laboratory, now comes in silico - experiments conducted in silicon, i.e. in the computer.

The emergence of in silico medicine is the result of advances in medical informatics over the past twenty years. Scientists define "in silico" as the modeling, simulation, and visualization of biological and medical processes on a computer.

With in silico technology, it is possible to reliably prove the safety and efficacy of a medical device based on computer modeling and physical simulations. The method can thus replace classical clinical studies, significantly accelerate the process and help to detect diseases earlier, optimize therapies and increase the safety and reliability of medical devices in the long term.

CADFEM Medical is one of the pioneers of in silico medicine and has been working intensively and with commitment since 2016 to harness the potential of simulation technology for the healthcare sector.
Based on a scalable platform, CADFEM Medical offers medical device manufacturers a straightforward way to use computer modeling and simulation to significantly optimize and accelerate the process of medical device development and regulatory approval.

"The additional funding in this investment round confirms investors' continued confidence in our vision to sustainably improve patient care through in silico medicine," said Jan Hertwig, CEO of CADFEM Medical GmbH. "We are proud that our products are well received and appreciated by the market."
As part of the current Series A financing round, CADFEM International was joined by South Korean CAE specialist TAE SUNG S&E, Inc. as an investor. In addition to the capital provided by the investment, the partnership with TAE SUNG will be used specifically to establish an Asian sales hub and better access to the attractive Asian market.
"With TAE SUNG as a strategic investor at our side, we can accelerate market access in the Asian region," explains Jan Hertwig.

TAE SUNG expands the strong network in the field of simulation and cloud computing, which already includes well-known partners such as Ansys and Microsoft.
With the total investment of €4.1 million, CADFEM Medical plans to expand its staff and provide resources to further develop its platform for in silico medicine, further pursuing its mission to provide medical device manufacturers and startups in this field with even faster access to cutting edge technology.
"The funding round shows how strongly in silico medicine has developed in recent years and puts us in an excellent position to become a leading technology partner for medical device manufacturers in the coming years," emphasizes Florian Maier, CMO of CADFEM Medical.
