Virtual Workshop Provides Strategies & Guidance for Changing & Pivoting Careers

The pandemic has left thousands without jobs. Statistics show that 1 out of 4 women are considering a career change, down shifting their careers or leaving the workplace. Many are left fearful, without direction and unsure how to navigate the current situation.

The problem is clear but what is the solution?

Reizel Larrea-Alvarez, a successful entrepreneur, Emmy Award winning journalist and founder of the online course, Negotiation Synergy: Get What You Want Together, leads a panel of experts that will address concerns and issues that women in business face today due to the fallout from Covid19. “It’s time to stop talking about the problem, it’s time for a solution,” says Reizel. “We need to provide women with important tools and guidance so they can be successful in business as well as in their personal lives.”

Reizel has successfully pivoted in her career every 7 to 10 years. She will lead a panel of experts during a live virtual event, Discover, Strategize & Negotiate the Career of Your Dreams, that will address women’s concerns and challenges. “I have gathered a group of very successful business women that will share their knowledge and experiences, provide strategies, advice, tips and solutions that will encourage women to craft a plan of action of their own,” explains Reizel. “Now more than ever we need unity and collaboration, synergy is the answer. We can get what we want, together and that is one of the many topics we will discuss during the workshop. I firmly believe we all deserve to work and serve in a way that truly fulfills us.”

The workshop, on March 20, from 10 am to 4 pm, will address the challenges and obstacles women face in business, specifically when trying to reinvent themselves as they look for new options and careers while navigating the pitfalls the pandemic presents. She feels with the right tools and skills everyone can meet their goals and attain success in their personal and professional lives. “The key is to identify limiting beliefs and reframe them and to negotiate in synergy,” says Reizel.

About Reizel Larrea-Alvarez:
Cuban born, Miami raised, Reizel Larrea-Alvarez has worked in a variety of industries throughout her career. She graduated from the University of Miami with a double major in accounting and finance which led to her first career. Several years later, after working for the prestigious global accounting firm Deloitte and small accounting firms, she dove into the male dominated scrap rubber business and became a successful broker in one of the few women owned businesses in that industry. This paved the way for her to expand into the scrap plastics industry and grow her business. She soon saw an opportunity to manufacture t-shirts and golf shirts made of plastic PET bottles(polyester) and recycled cotton, before long she was selling t-shirts to the Coca Cola company. She worked on a Nascar Texas Speedway recycling project with Coca- Cola and AnheuserBusch and even received an award for Enviromental Education from the Salt Lake City Olympics committee. Her love of spinning led to teaching morning spin classes for 5 years, and that was before going to her day job. Reizel met her current husband in her 40’s and that led to the next chapter, a career in broadcast journalism. She excelled at that too, receiving 2 Emmy’s and 5 nominations, all within the first year. One of the stories she produced even changed Federal law. She eventually started her own video production company and quickly learned how to edit and shoot. She dedicated her time to telling legacy stories about successful people. In her 50’s she became intrigued with personal development and realized how challenging it could be to re-frame personal belief systems and the importance of self-awareness. She realized that people live in fear of change and of the unknown, that many are paralyzed by the thought of being judged and of failure. Her next journey was the creation of an online women's channel and interviewed women entrepreneurs who were successful and overcame struggles to build their businesses and realize their dreams. Then enter COVID19. She had to switch gears yet again as the global pandemic greatly impacted her business. She combined years of personal development, her journalism skills, and career changes and created Negotiation Synergy: Get What You Want, Together, an online course to help women become aware of who they are, find their strengths, build relationships, embrace their dreams and transform by re-setting their GPS.
