Miebach supports the international online fashion retailer Lesara in the realization of its newly opened distribution center
Frankfurt, 17 August 2018 Lesara, the innovative online shop for fashion and lifestyle products, opened its European logistics centre in Erfurt on 17th of August 2018. Miebach Consulting supported the internationally active online fashion retailer in the detailed planning, simulation and implementation of the conveyor technology and accompanies the start-up phase. The new distribution center strengthens Lesara's award-winning supply chain.
"AI-supported, data-based trend analyses enable us to predict design and purchasing preferences more precisely and to flexibly adapt our production and logistics to them. The new distribution center enables us to minimize the throughput times of the goods and thus offers us the possibility to make our constantly growing product range available even faster for our customers all over Europe" - says Matthias Wilrich, Founder and Chief Operating Officer, Lesara.
The material flow solution includes modern conveyor technology that connects the workstations in the goods in and returns area with the picking warehouse and the goods out workstations. Two different crossbelt sorters allocate and distribute the goods. A vertical sorter ensures the immediate recording of incoming returns. A horizontal sorter will be responsible for the distribution of around 33,500 parcels daily – and even well beyond that during peak seasons like Christmas – to up to 20 shipping destinations.
"For productive and thus cost-efficient order picking, the goods are assembled in a four-storey shelving system in batches. Consolidation is carried out by distributing the batch containers according to time and sequence with the aid of sequencing buffers" - says André Matthias, Senior Consultant, Miebach Consulting.
In addition to the technical solution, Lesara is also convinced of the project implementation: "Miebach Consulting with its experience as well as the results-oriented and flexible project approach is a fundamental support in our project, not least to successfully implement our ambitious time and growth plan" - says Fabian Gemmecke, Head of Business Development, Lesara.
Further information on the project can be obtained from Michael Greschke, Head of Market Segment Fashion & Lifestyle, Miebach Consulting (e-mail: greschke@miebach.com).
About Lesara

The company, founded by Roman Kirsch, Matthias Wilrich and Robin Müller in Berlin 2013, is now further developing in the e-commerce sector, what Fast Fashion providers have achieved offline: Lesara only needs around 10 working days from recognizing a trend until it is available to customers across Europe - faster and at a better price than any other fashion and lifestyle company. Products are selected using data-based analyses. A special trend analysis tool developed by Lesara recognizes trends as they emerge. By jumping over middlemen and having direct contact with the best factories in the world, Lesara is able to implement these trends immediately and make them accessible to everyone.
