Remington College Dallas Campus to participate in walk to support National Multiple Sclerosis Society
DALLAS (March 26, 2019) – The National Multiple Sclerosis Society knows creating a world free of MS will take everyone working together. Remington College will do its part by joining others on the journey at Walk MS: Dallas 2019.
Remington College Dallas Campus will participate in the walk on April 13 at Addison Circle Park in Addison, Texas. The walk begins at 8:30 a.m.
The effort is part of Remington College’s nationwide partnership with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, which kicked off on World MS Day in May 2018. Students and employees at both campuses will be invited to participate in, raise funds for or volunteer for the walk.
“Remington College itself is a nonprofit, and each of our campuses is dedicated to giving back to the communities we serve,” said Heather McIver, Senior Vice President Institutional Innovation. “Walk MS is the perfect chance to send our students and employees into that community to stand together, show support for those living with MS and take steps toward ending this disease forever.”
Walk MS is one of the National MS Society’s annual events, which includes Bike MS. The goal of the walk is to bring people together to end MS. With the money raised, the Society can fund research and provide support to help those living with MS lead their best lives.
Multiple sclerosis is a disease in which the body’s immune system is directed against the central nervous system, damaging the myelin that surrounds nerve fibers. Symptoms include blurred vision, loss of balance, slurred speech, numbness, and more. There is no cure.
The National MS Society’s mission is to stop MS in its tracks, restore what has been lost and end MS forever so those affected can live their best lives.
