Born2Bond - these are the new, technical adhesives from the adhesive manufacturer BOSTIK. Today, engineering adhesives are used in the manufacture of smartphones, medical devices, electrical appliances, electric vehicles and luxury packaging. As the demands on adhesive technology in these industries become increasingly complex, the challenges are constantly growing. The need for an adaptable and faster curing process, while meeting demanding aesthetic, environmental, health and safety aspects, provided the impetus at BOSTIK for the new Born2Bond products, developed for pinpoint bonding in the high-end sector.

Thanks to a unique, patented process, BOSTIK has succeeded in overcoming the limits of cyanoacrylate technology and producing the advanced Born2Bond adhesive formulations in such a way that they are low-odour, low-blooming and largely label-free. This added efficiency and safety in bonding means that users can manufacture products even better, more easily and more ecologically. The new Born2Bond product range is available in a number of advanced formulations and consists of 1- and 2-component instant adhesives with the following unique selling points:

* They are low odor. This means that the odor nuisance is significantly lower than with conventional instant adhesives.
* They are low-blooming. This means that there are no white, annoying edges when gluing. This is particularly important in areas where appearance plays a major role.
* They are label-free or require less labeling than conventional superglues. This protects the environment and reduces risks during processing.

The Born2Bond 1K instant adhesives run under the "ULTRA" label. These are construction adhesives that are a masterpiece of technology. Both for the eye and the nose and for the environment. The 1K instant adhesives are available in various viscosities, sizes and formats. Their formulation consistency has been designed for high bond strength, even where bending occurs. It ensures that the bonded joint does not bloom. Born2Bond 1-K instant adhesives are suitable for bonding most substrates, including plastic, rubber and metal.

The low odor Born2Bond 2K instant adhesives are divided into three categories: Flex, Repair and Structural. Born2Bond Flex absorbs shock and vibration and bonds a wide range of materials. The curing time of this instant adhesive is six minutes. Within 10 minutes, a Born2Bond Flex superglue becomes a polymer with more than 200 percent elongation. The 2-component instant adhesive Born2Bond Repair is ideal for immediate bonding and repair. It is impact-resistant, gap-filling, drill-resistant and low-blooming and adheres to a very wide range of materials. Its gel consistency allows it to be applied in any orientation. Born2Bond Structural is high strength, adjustable, impact resistant, low odor and low efflorescence. A Born2Bond Structural 2K instant adhesive has an open time of 25 minutes and yet immediate hand strength (with zero gap bonding). It has excellent adhesion to a variety of closed and porous substrates, including aluminum, plastic, elastomers, wood, particle board and leather. The adhesive is easy to work with and fills gaps up to 5 millimeters.

The Born2Bond Light Lock is also part of the portfolio of these pioneering, technical instant adhesives. This contact and light-curing cyanoacrylate adhesive is a so-called double-curing instant adhesive that is ideal for immediate bonding and coating. This adhesive is available in high viscosity (HV) or gel form. The products are label-free, i.e. without hazard symbols on the label: Born2Bond Ultra, Born2Bond Light Lock and Born2Bond Flex.
