School with 100 Percent Results JMA Pilani Celebrates Founder’s Day 2018 with a spectrum of Sports Events

By establishing Smt. Jamuna Mishra Academy (JMA in his native place Pilani Rajasthan India in fond memory of his beloved mother, founder Dr Brij Mohan Mishra built capacities for the spirit of inquiry, creativity moral leadership among the students and became their role models.

JMA instituted in the year 2004 is presently one of the most sought after schools at Pilani considered as Oasis in the desert state of Rajasthan well known in India today for top ranking institutions like BITS Pilani University as well as CSIR Laboratory CEERI, L.N. Birla Naturopathy & Yoga Kendra, and globally renowned Birla Science Centre.

Born in Pilani to the well known Late Ram Niwasji Vaid of Pilani in 1941 Dr. BM Mishra inherited a legacy in which the creation of wealth and philanthropy was regarded as part of societal development. Spiritual strength and moral values were part of his personal credo. Dr BM Mishra’s contribution to education is no less than his contribution to the healthcare and hospitality sector. Known for his dignified unassuming personality, gleaming intellect, meticulous planning, deep regard for punctuality, gifted business acumen, and dynamic leadership, Dr. BM Mishra made an indelible mark in the field of education at Pilani.

Dr BM Mishra did his schooling from the famous Birla School of Pilani and his graduation from erstwhile Birla Science college which later became eminent institution Birla Institute of Technology and Science BITS Pilani both established by the legendary Padma Vibhushan Sri GD Birla. He then went to Jaipur to pursue his Medicine from SMS Medical College Jaipur. Then he pursued his higher education in Medicine from UK and then moved over to USA.

He breathed his last in the evening of Thursday, the 04th August, 2016 at Syracuse USA after a brief illness. The school management resolved to observe every year 04th August as Founders Day by holding sports events as the Founder had firm belief that India is destined to make sports glory including Olympics in coming years. Today JMA stands in Pilani as the School with 100% Results in Board Examination.

On 04 August 2018, a colorful function was organized with well known criminal advocate Shri Mahavir Prasad Gupta, ADJ, Khetri Jhunjhunu highly respected for speedy disposal of cases as Chief Guest. Other dignitaries included Dr.Suman Mishra President JMA , Shri.MathuRam Verma, Shri Rishal Singh, Shri Umed Singh Rathore, Adv. Hazarilal , Dr Anil Garssa, Auditor Mr.O.P.Sharma. Also present were various Mishra family members Mrs. & Mr.Sudarshan Mishra, Mr.Sushil Mishra, Mrs & Mr.Narendra Mishra.

The program started with bhajans, pushpanjali and candle light ceremony at the Heritage building where the junior wing is situated. The annual sports day was inaugurated by the chief guest by hoisting the school flag and by declaring the event open. The sports activities conducted included Running race, frog race, lemon and spoon race, sack race, three -legged race, Fifty meter race, skipping race, long jump, relay race, hurdles and shot put.

After each event, the winners were awarded gold, silver and bronze medals by the chief guest as well as by the dignitaries present. Totally 70 gold medals, 70 silver and 70 bronze medals were awarded. The students of class 10 and 12 had a friendly basket-ball match and badminton match also. Neptune house bagged the first position and Venus house was runner-up.

To mark the day, tree plantation was done by JMA President Dr.Suman Mishra and the celebrations ended with the singing of National Anthem. Principal Mrs Booma Natarajan piloted the various proceedings of the day. The entire gathering departed from the JMA playground with beaming faces and pride that they were part of an institution which is indeed a jewel in the crown among the schools at Pilani.
