Tuskegee University has invited Marlene M. Maheu, Ph.D., Telebehavioral Health Institute to be a speaker at a live webinar going to be held on 18th June, 2021 from 1-4 pm CST. Dr. Maheu’s session entitled Telehealth Practice Competencies Workshop will address interactive training that can be followed by parents and youth alike. 2 CEUs are provided to include 1 hour of ethics.

The topics that she will cover during the webinar include:

How to get started with evidence-based telehealth with children, youth and their families - setting up your office, choosing technologies, developing practical workflows, how to find more information.
How to engage children in telehealth, how to work with parents to enlist their aid when possible.
Legal compliance with informed consent, HIPAA, mandated reporting of abuse, suicide and homicie, practicing over state lines.
Ethical issues of professionalism with telehealth competence, maintaining boundaries, telepresence on camera, hybrid telehealth when working with children group and family therapy.
