The ‘format lift” from markilux provides protection against the wind and the sun

Awning manufacturer markilux has launched a further model, the ‘format lift”, providing protection against the wind and prying eyes. The system of textile-covered aluminium frames slides up smoothly. It is particularly interesting for the hospitality sector because you can connect several frames together and thus protect outdoor seating areas from adverse weather conditions.

Both sun and wind can spoil the experience of sitting in an outdoor dining area. And this is where the height-adjustable system ‘format lift” from markilux comes in. It offers flexible weather protection for open spaces in the catering industry and is particularly suitable for windy regions.

The sections slide vertically

Like the other models in the manufacturer’s ‘format’ product series, the ‘lift’ version consists of textile-covered aluminium frames. The system is made up of two parts. A lower screen section is firmly fixed inside lateral posts up to a height of one metre and serves as a permanent visual barrier. Directly behind, there is another section that can be moved seamlessly up to a maximum height of 190 centimetres, depending on the post size. The movable section is attached to the posts by sliding profiles without any visible connecting parts. It seems to glide along them as if it were floating, especially since a counterweight holds it effortlessly in balance. ‘Unlike a static solution, you can simply slide the moving section up. Depending on the weather, you can simply adjust its position and slide it back down again,’ explains Jan Kattenbeck, head of ‘team : project’. Both frames can be covered with various awning covers from the manufacturer. For a clear view, a full foil window can also be integrated.

The system is durable and flexible

Visually, the ‘format lift’ is characterised by its simple elegance because the cover is flush with the frame. Furthermore, the awning cover and foil window can be retensioned and replaced if necessary, which gives the product a particularly long service life. A lot of the markilux fabric cover qualities can be fitted to this screen system. There are also plenty of patterns for the customer to choose from. Customers can even have the covers branded with their company logo. The weather protection system can also be combined with other markilux products to create highly attractive outdoor spaces. An individual screen section is available in widths between one and two and a half metres. Since it is a modular system, several elements can be combined to create a beautifully shaped border, which will even go around corners.
